             Paragliding in Montenegro

Maps
MAC FLY is a member of the paragliding club of Budva 'airtopia'. The Club is registered with the ministry of Sport and is part of the Aero Club of Montenegro.
Together we are responsible for the take off and landing places on the coast.
We welcome visiting pilots and clubs and schools and offer advice on flying conditions, sites and safety.

Advice for visiting pilots
Airspace: Please ask about local airspace restrictions before flying, contact us for information.

Equipment and qualification
Pilots are expected to have proper equipment, including a reserve parachute and hold an internationally recognized qualification.

Visiting schools

Please contact the club before arrival.
Instructors must have radio contact at all times with their students. A qualified instructor must be present at the take off and also there must be another responsible person at the landing area if guiding students down. Equipment must be of a suitable nature.

The flying sites

1.Brajici. 760 meters above sea level.

This is a thermic site directly above Becici beach. It is good for repeat flights as there is a main road direct to take off. The quick turn-round times are also good for training. Great for learning to thermal and also good for manoeuvres such a B lines, wingovers and spirals or acro!
The XC record is 35km, along the coastal mountain range. Beach landings can be difficult during June, July and August due to crowds.

2. Button Hill. 650 meters above sea level
This is another South facing mountain range with a good road most of the way to the top. Last section requires 4x4. Also good for training, Many grass fields to land in or beach landing. Often better in June, July and august as some beach landings at Becici are too crowded with sun worshippers. A good thermic coastal site with XC potential.

3. Vrsuta. 1180 meters above sea level
4x4 drive only to take off...very spectacular and also a good starting place for XC or out and return flights. Spectacular views and an easy take off, generally good into the evenings.
4. Lovcen. 1740 meters above sea level
'Fly down into Kotor bay' - see another Video on You Tube. Possibly one of the most memorable flights anyone will ever make; breathtaking scenery all the way to the small landing area in a football stadium. Only suitable for competent pilots due to the limited landing option, also 4x4 is required for access.

Inland Sites:

Niksic

Great XC potential and a great training site. North and South facing ridges, open valleys and mountain thermal flying.

Access before March can be difficult due to snow. 4x4 access only. Excellent out and return, triangle and open XC possibilities.
